Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

Guxxi aka Gucci Vump

I’m not a huge Lana fan (dunno why but there’s just something about her I’m not very fond of) but I think Born to Die is a great song – posted it earlier – and the remix is really strong. Great job by Gucci Vump aka Guxxi aka The Shoes + Brodinski.

What do you think?

Hey guys,

I’m at Brussels airport right now waiting for my flight to Hong Kong. … and then I got interrupted by the woman in the speakers telling me to board. So, now I’m in Doha Airport waiting for my connected flight to Hong Kong that will leave in about a half an hour I guess. Anyways; I wanted to tell you about Melé. This guy… he’s just so damn talented. Guess I started to lay eyes on him about a year ago when I -accendentaly?- found him on twitter. He was -and still is- a really funny guy with great taste in music. He’s first EP that got really known was the one with the Bombay track, remixed by French Fries (it’s really good). After a couple of months now he’s just growing and keeps getting better. Already bffs with Annie Mac (on twitter) and amazingly talented, I personally think this guy could get far in his genre. I surely believe in him.

Here’s his latest release, played by Annie Mac on daytime radio (!) “Beamer” out on Grizzly soon.

Be sure to check out the “Bombay” track I was talking about earlier too.

Because the weather is fucking depressing. Dream away, my friends. Imagine you’re in Abu Dhabi with a big ass cocktail in your hand.

This is what Joakim itself had to say about the mixtape:

This is not exactly a “Best Of” but a mix of the tracks i played most in the clubs during my DJ sets in 2011 (so obviously it doesn’t include older tracks that i still play). Lots of great dance music this year again. Makes me wanna make some.

Sup guys!

Yesterday I found out that my favorite club in the world is closing its doors. Libertine Supersport was a fresh innovative club, every Saturday at Le K-Nal in Brussels. With a beautiful view (at the Canal), always great people, amazing atmosphere and every week a fucking amazing line up, it’s really sad the club had to close its doors. For me personnally as I said it was my favorite club and now I’m kinda desperate where to go out. Social club was my n° 2 but hey, going to Paris every week is not really an option I guess.

Anyway, I’m very glad I attended the very last night, being the one on New year’s eve with Brodinski, Gesaffelstein, Agoria, Attar!, Mickey and all the resident dj’s. It was dope.

Hope the (ex) owners will come up with another great, fresh and innovative idea and brighten up the Brussels nightlife once again. fingers crossed.

Here’s a video about my all time favorite night at LS; the ABRACADA label night last year with The Krays (Yuksek & Brodinski), Villa, Mikix The Cat, The Aikiu, The Magician and many more. I haven’t heard anything of the label for a while now and hope that didn’t die neither. Could be thought because the 2 label owners Mannu Barron en Dirk De Ruyck both have their own labels now (Bromance and Smile Recordings).

Guess the future will give us the answers we need.

MERCI LIBERTINE SUPERSPORT

The video I actually wanted to show you is on Facebook zo can’t share it on my blog, but be sure to have a look, it’s amazing! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=463041976883
